I was sitting in Comp class and trying to think of a fun topic I could easily write about. Well me and Alysha Halaand started talking about some good old memories. We laughed about it for a while and I decided to blog about it today, so here it is.
We (Me, Haley Mallo, Amanda Bennett, Alysha Halaand, Tanner Bernhard, Sahan Jayawardena, Allison Eppens, Mallory Dempsey, Breanna Pedelty, Kate Halaand, I think thats it) were at East Park, down at one of the shelter houses. It was starting to get dark out so we went to play Sardines (Hide and seek in the dark with partners and one group hides and the rest try to find them. The last one to find them hides) in Praire Playground. While playing we found some nerf guns that were all empty. There was a little bit of disappointment when that was discovered, but we ran around with them anyway. It had gotten really dark our and we had been playing Sardines for a while when all the sudden a bright light shone in our faces. Two cops got out of their cars and started walking towards us. They asked us the normal questions and we answered simply and politely, but inside we were all freaking out! We had no clue what was going on. After some intense questioning we were let go and started walking towards the area we knew the rest of the group was. As we got closer we realized they were talking to two or three cops too! We listened to them as they finished their questioning. Then one of us asked what they were questioning us for. What had we done wrong?? We were just playing Sardines! They said they had gotten a complaint about a possible gun exchange going on.
Okay 1. they were nerf guns, and 2. it was atleast 45 minutes after we had picked up the nerf guns, so they must not of been in too much of a rush.
To make it all better, when Alysha picked up the nerf gun to show him what it was, the cop reached for his gun and told us to back away from it.
Then Sahan Jayawardena asked the cop if he had done a presentation at our school. The officer had done a presentation about domestic abuse or something like that. It was kind of a weird conversation after that.
Finally the cops left and we darted back down to the shelter house to share our experience with my parents, to eat some smores, and listen to some very interesting songs sung by Elliot Craw and Sahan Jayawardena.
It was an awesome and UNFORGETABLE night!! Thanks everyone for being there and sharing this memory. Until next time, Exit Stage Left. :))
hahaha that's pretty funny. This reminds me of all the dumb stuff me and my friends used to do like back in middle school. Fireworks, dingdong ditch, night games, bonfires, ahhh the good ol' days. It never gets old.
ReplyDeleteBondfires are legit!! :))
ReplyDeleteThat was probably one of the best nights ever! Who knew parks could be so much fun?
ReplyDeleteHahahah I'll never forget that night, ever. I will cherish it always. It's up there with the time Dakota got the fire department called to my house. Priceless!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a blast...it would have been so much fun to actually be there. It kind of sound like my friends from belmond. LOL only they were on the bike trail with sticks. Good time!
ReplyDeleteI have some family and friends in Belmond too!! :)
