Taking away our cell phones at school doesn't help us much, except make us even more angry and inconvenience our parents.
I think during lunch and QUICK Time we should be able to contact our parents or people outside of our school. I am not saying let everyone carry a phone all day long and we should be able to text whoever in the school at anytime, I am saying we should be given the chance to prove ourselves that we are responsible enough to use our phones in case of emergency. I know this would be one of the hardest rules to implement, but I think we need to find ways to try. Its not fair to let a few kids ruin it for all of us. I believe that if we were given the freedom and then this privilege was lost, it would be easier to accept these rules. Mainly because we were given the change and we lost it for ourselves, not just being told we can't without any real explanation.
Of course there would have to be rules and regulations on cell phones for this to work at all.
One idea I had that might influence some kids is: If you are caught with your phone out anywhere but the commons and/or lunch room/lunchroom hallway, you loose the privilege to have your phone out at all besides after school for the rest of your High School career. Meaning you wouldn't be able to use your phone when everyone else is.
Taking away our cell phone doesn't only anger us it inconveniences our parents. For example: You ride the bus home, both your parents work until 5 and you know for sure they can't take the time off to come get your phone. What happens?? You don't get your phone back that day and maybe not even the next. Instead you get in more trouble because the phone stays at school and your parents can't get a hold of you. Your parents may even try and come in before school to get your phone but then they are late to work because no one is there to help them.
They may even try and come after school but you still can't get you phone because, once again, there is no one ever in the office when you need something.
All in all I think we need to be trusted more and given the chance to prove our abilities. Maybe once we prove our side of this battle, we can prove ourselves on other battles.
For now that's all I have to say on this topic, I only wish I could snap my fingers and make all of this wishing come true. Until next time, Exit Stage Left.

texting + walking = fountain lady.
I was getting ready for school one day. I turned on my tv and was flipping through channels when i saw this video.
Cathy, now also known as "the fountain lady", was so distracted by her texting that she fell head first into the mall water fountain! She says and I quote: "I thought I had a long distance -- I didn't. My boot hit the edge of the fountain and I fell over. I couldn't see anything that I could grab. Next thing I know I'm seeing pennies and coins in front of my face." FOR REAL?!?!?! I don't know whether to feel sorry for her being so clueless, or laugh at her for being so clueless. I really started to laugh after I found out that she is planning to sue the Berkshire Mall!! Cathy feels that the security personnel should have cared more for her well being instead of laughing when they saw her trip. Sorry, but if I was a mall cop and saw this happen, my first instinct would not have been to see if she was okay. I probably would have laughed just like the security gaurd did. His laughter did get him fired though. (For more on the job loss check out this link: http://bigsole.blogspot.com/2011/01/guard-loses-job-for-woman-falls-in.html). Fountain lady's lawyers say: "Because there was no railing to protect someone from falling into the fountain her lawsuit may have some merit." So does that mean that we are going to have to put a railing around every body of of water?? Clear Lake, the public pool, Big Blue, a little pond in someone's backyeard, everywhere? To make this story even better Cathy, during the time of her trip, was under charge for alleged theft!! There is an investigation on whether or not Cathy and the Security Guard were both in on the deal and trying to stage her trip.
Cathy obviously doesn't know proper texting etiquette. (Which I will be talking about in my next blog post.)
Okay so let me get this straight, she is being charged for alleged theft, tripped into a water fountain, and now is suing the Mall for not checking if she is okay. WOW. I think this lady has some problems. What do you guys think?? Do you think that the security guard should have been fired?? Should she get money for emotional distress?? Is this lady a complete wack job??
However the argument ends up, this one little video brought much laughter to many people. Just like fountain lady did after she retrieved herself out of the water fountain, I am going to exit stage left.

I Love Fridays!
So my sister comes running out to the living room screaming "Its on! Its on!" I was like "What's on?" "The last Hannah Montana!" My reaction -- Great...... (In a really sarcastic tone). So here I am now sitting, typing my blog, and watching the Last Hannah Montana with my sister. Thank goodness my phone rings from a text message from Haley. My phone is on its last bar so I plug it in while responding.
Then I was thinking how I feel so out of the loop when I don't have my phone! My battery dies like every few days and I don't have service in most huge brick buildings. (Like School) I have to find a window to stand by and sometimes I still don't get service. It is so frustrating! On the other hand I LOVE my phone when I am texting my friends and making plans to do something. Like 2 days ago - Friday.
I love Fridays. But Dumb and Dumber + my friends (Haley, Rebecca, and Katelyn) + pizza + the wii = Awesome Friday! I haven't seen Dumb and Dumber in forever. We all were laughing our heads off and talking loudly during the whole movie the way we would get in trouble for if we were sitting in a movie theatre. Godfathers Pizza = The best pizza in the world! I dont think there was any pizza left over when we were done. Or Skittles which Haley brought with her. (The Red and Purple Skittles are Nasty!!) Before we knew it the movie was done and we were watching each other epically fail - except for Katelyn - at Guitar Hero for the wii. I like Guitar Hero on the PS2 but I stink at the one on the wii. Like you have to press the note before the actual note crosses the colored part. I mean WHAT?? So yea, Guitar Hero didn't go over so well for me. But tennis did. I beat Katelyn but Haley beat me. Oh well. I think i was watching Haleys side of the screen for part of the time, maybe thats why I lost?? I blame it on my blondeness sometimes. Anyway, I had an awesome time with my friends and can't wait to do it all again. I apologize to Rebecca's parents for being so loud.
I think that is all I have to say for now. Until next time I will Exit Stage Left.
